It has been for centuries that tea cultivation has been telling a story of culture, craftsmanship and mother nature in Vietnam’s tea cultivating green hills.
They are evidenced from the region of the misty highlands of the north to the plain areas located in the southern part as these pure lands give birth to varieties of hot cups of tea, each hot cup having unique attributes shaped by its geographical locality.
There’s more though, and it’s more than just tea that you will find in Vietnam; it is tea together with design and history that is artistic in nature.
Vietnam Regional Tea Cultures
The variety of climate zones and topography in Vietnam means she has the potential for high quality tea production. The provinces in the north that have always had cooler climate and misty hills are known for the production of green and Oolong teas.
Further to the southern parts, we encounter the hot low lying regions which also produce strong black teas that are full-bodied and aromatic. Because of such diversity, it means that within Vietnam national teas would meet every need from mild teas that are very refreshing to the strong and vigorous ones.
Green Teas: The Heart of Vietnam
In Vietnam, these are likely the most famous of all the teas, especially the green teas from Thai Nguyen and Moc Chau that have some delicate flavors that allow consumers to enjoy a light and sweetish grassy freshness.
They are typical consumed as fresh tea with such teas symbolizing the early mornings of Vietnam in mid-march.
Where Vietnam Tea is Grown
In the highlands of Vietnam, especially in the border provinces with China, oolong that is grown is truly eloquent.
Sweet, fruity, floral and somewhat woody flavors, these Vietnamese oolongs are well regarded the world over.
