water temperature for fruit teas

  • I love fruit tea. How long do I have to wait until boiled water has cooled down to ca 70 degrees?

  • Hiya, thanks for one of our first questions here! For fruit tea, temperature doesn't matter at all. The 70-80c thing comes only from Green Tea whereby some compounds within the tea can be damaged if boiled too high. Fruit tea can be 100c, or whatever you want - basically you don't have to worry about the exact temp of the water and just put it in when you think it's hot enough.

Hotter = better extraction in general, which is why I usually suggest do boil until 100c and then let it cool down afterwards.

  • I’ve been getting into tea recently, and I can’t decide if it’s worth spending a lot on those premium loose-leaf blends. There are so many options out there, from basic grocery store brands to super expensive ones that claim to have unique flavors or health benefits. Does anyone have experience with high-end teas? Are they really that much better, or is it just clever marketing? I’d love some recommendations or thoughts!

  • That’s such a great question! I’ve been a tea enthusiast for years, and I’ve tried everything from budget-friendly bags to pricey specialty teas. Honestly, the difference can be significant depending on what you’re looking for. High-end teas often have more complex flavors, fresher ingredients, and a smoother finish. But you don’t always have to break the bank to get a good cup—mid-range loose-leaf teas can be fantastic too!

  • It’s funny, though, how tea seems to pop up so often in movies. Think of characters like Sherlock Holmes or Professor X—both are known for sipping tea. I always think it adds a sense of calm and sophistication to their personalities. Speaking of movies, if you’re in the mood to watch something with iconic tea-drinking characters, check out this platform Soap2Day. It’s got a great collection of films and shows to inspire your next tea moment!
