@Toby G perhaps a sample of a tea with an order over a certain amount.
@Michele what a great idea, more work for the team but each month/week we could have a selection to pick from, or just Toby and Team pick something they have excess of to send as sample. I'd love that. I love the teas I bought so far!
@Mrs + Michele
Samples definitely seem to be something that comes up in feedback consistently. A bit of insight for how things work in the warehouse which is stopping us from doing this (for now).
Currently every day I get a list from staff on which teas to pack. On average I try to pack 100 packs per tea type, and packing up to 7 types per day. At the moment this doesn't leave room for me to do much else apart from packing teas that make up all of the orders, let alone packing samples.
The other factor is warehouse space whereby we don't actually have anywhere to store all of the samples. I have a few ideas for storage though.
Prior to offering samples I would probably need to also pack samples for all 300+ products and have them ready to go else the orders would be waiting for me to pack the samples every time.
The new packing machine is very good though and have ( I think ) been steadily catching up with stock levels and should reach a point this year where I don't have to spend the majority of my time each day packing tea stock. The priorities after this are stock syncing what's in the warehouse with the website so that we never create any more backorders, along with a few other things.
The above issues are what we run in to due to us packing everything in-house, which is a rarity in Australia for tea and lets face it, most other products. Many other companies will pack overseas and then only need to send the premade packets out as orders come in.
I still wouldn't have it any other way though as packing in-house allows for much more flexilibity, faster turnaround time for new products and much better cost control so that we don't need to increase our prices too often.
