Now that Ginger Tea is just back in stock, now would probably be a good time to go into a little more depth about the benefits of Ginger Tea and what it can do for you.
Here's a list of the most commonly asked questions we receive about this particular tea type, along with some answers!
Will Ginger Tea Make Me Sleepy?
Actually no, despite its relaxation properties - this tea improves circulation and provides a bit of an energy boost. We've never had any reports of this tea making anyone sleepy, but with that being said, it's also completely fine to drink just before bedtime too.
There are of course better options for tea before bedtime though, such as passionflower tea!
Will Ginger Tea Make Me Calm?
Yes and no. Ginger tea commonly gives people a bit of an aura of warmth due to the metabolism boost and improved circulation properties. This warm feeling can be quite relaxing but doesn't really correlate to sleepiness.
Apart from the mental calmness it can provide, ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory that can actually physically calm down internal organs, particularly the stomach.
Does Ginger Tea Actually Give Energy?
It won't give you an artificial energy boost in the same way that coffee and energy drinks will, but the improved circulation you'll experience can really get the blood flowing, the heart rate up slightly, and improve general alertness.
Is Ginger Tea Hard to Digest?
We've never heard of anyone having any problems with digesting Ginger Tea, particularly because it's supposed to aid with digestion. If it's the first time you've consumed Ginger in tea form and you're nervous, just try a little at first and see how you go.
The kind we sell here at Tea Life is actually devoid of any other chemicals that may have caused you problems in the past if Ginger alone wasn't the issue.
Does Ginger Tea Really Boost the Immune System?
Yes, most definitely. Numerous studies have shown that Ginger boosts the immune system, even so far as cancer patients drinking Ginger Tea daily recovering faster than those that did not drink it.
Does Ginger Tea Have Low Carbs?
Within each teaspoon of ginger tea, there are around 0.4 carbs. This is quite low, and a cup or two a day won't affect a keto diet too much at all. Ginger can also help to keep you feeling full a bit longer - which can help with low carb diets.
Is Ginger Tea Dehydrating?
Ginger is listed as a diuretic, which means it will make you pee more! For that reason, we'd recommending drinking a little more water than usual to compensate for this. It normally won't make you thirsty, but the diuretic properties should be taken into consideration.
